Hardware Help & Support / Re: kvm
November 01, 2015, 10:36:08 PM
kvm is a module for hardware virtualization support. This error just tells that stuff like Intel's VT support is disabled. If you run virtual machines, it'll be slow. If you don't run virtual machines on that box, just disregard this error, as VastOne stated.

Regarding your wifi issues: The rtl8139 driver is an ethernet driver (cable involved). I doubt that this is the chip on your wireless thingie. Feel free to post the output of the command "lspci", so we might find out what chip is on there and which driver you need.

Predictable Network Interfaces - systemd

Why not using solution 1 or 4 from the official documentation PackRat posted? Don't they work on sid?

VSIDO Discussions / Re: Someone please ...

Well, I had a bored looking i7 920 standing around. So I fetched the 64bit iso and gave it a spin.

installer booted into gaphical UI and installation to /dev/sda1 went without any issues. Then reboot and some warnings and errors were thrown at early boot stage, probably from within the initramfs. But it booted straight into graphical login screen.

I logged in and looked a bit around. First thing I noticed was that dhclient went crazy and configured ervey IP it could find in the provided dhcp range. Also systemctl is unusable as it can't connect to dbus.

I finally managed to get the system online and ssh server installed so that I could access and append the log here. Find it attached.

The isos will be also available via http, rsync and bittorent on my server from now on.

New images will be fetched automatically a couple of hours after a new release is up on the sourceforge page.
The torrent files are created automatically afterwards and always are named like the image file + ".torrent".

Please note that this is a non-official service and compare the checksums of downloaded files with the ones provided in the official download section to ensure that your copy is valid.

URLs for this release:
http:   http://mirror.aibor.de/vsido/iso/vsido_16_oct_2013x64.iso
rsync:   mirror.aibor.de::vsido/iso/vsido_16_oct_2013x64.iso
torrentfile:   http://mirror.aibor.de/vsido/iso/vsido_16_oct_2013x64.iso.torrent

Please let me know if you have any issues with the services provided.
