Solved - The patches are now a part of debians tint2 package
The keeper of the tint2 debian package has made an update to the code that breaks our version. This is from the debian changelog
tint2 (0.11+svn20121014-2) unstable; urgency=low
* Reintroduce tint2conf (Closes: #720200)
* Add patch fixing argv evaluation (Closes: #716390)
* Add patch fixing incorrect function declaration (Closes: #748171)
* Bump Debian Standards Version to 3.9.5
None of this makes any sense because the tint2 code has
not changed since October of 2012
I have put a permanent hold on the ISO builds for tint2 that should carry over onto new installs (the hold). You can stop this from happening by putting the same hold on tint2 this waysudo apt-mark hold tint2I have corrected this by implementing the correct code in the ISO builds
For anyone running VSIDO and you do an up/dist-upgrade and not having a hold on tint2, you will no longer see the bottom or main tint2 panel
To correct this simply run this How To againI have the x32 and x64 debs with this code attached. If you have run the update and the tint2 panel is gone, download your architect version and install it again.
I have also sent an email to the debian tint2 package maintainer asking for the patches to be included in his build so we would never have to worry about it again (we can always ask!)
