Not to sound snarky or like I'm picking on you, this is with no offense intended, if you want fbpanel, then a simple 'apt-get install fbpanel' should pull it in for you. The beauty of Linux is that in the end, we can really have it exactly how we want it.
There is no way to make every user 100% happy by installing automatically every app that user wants installed. If this were so, it wouldn't be called VSIDO.
As a matter of fact, not having fbpanel installed is a great opportunity for you to learn something about Linux! The instructions above should get you most if not all the way there! Thanks, have fun...
