I take it you installed nvidia from smxi as well? Will give it a go on my desktop if true.

I have it installed on my HP laptop - the rts_pci driver now fully supports the RTS5209 PCI internal card reader. No longer have to compile my own kernel  ;D

smxi worked for me too, both computers running smooth (intel graphics on laptop) with this kernel.
