Conky / Re: Conky Tips and Tricks

@vastone - nice one.

I'll see your scrot and raise you one conky:

The Tao phrase is using a semitransparent lua background, the weather uses conky argb settings so that it will be transparent with a compositor - compton in this case. Same one line system info conky that I've used for years. Fluxbox, VSIDO.

@vastone - 51% memory and seems to be running a bit hot; those numbers come down a bit, or are you running a lot more than Windows 7 in VM?

Tweaking a blue theme I've been working on -

Really Like the the PackRat. How did you get the wifi signal on the toolbar?

That is nm-applet which is included with network-manager-gnome. I have always preferred it to wicd - especially if you use a hidden name for your wireless. Also very good for roaming if you travel with the laptop/netbook for any reason.

Not using it with the current install - actually installed it with the first go around before I realized VSIDO had ceni pre-installed; ceni is also very good so I'm sticking with that.

Thanks -

Couple more; set up with fluxbox, xfce, and i3 - said adios to openbox. Custom kernel so my internal SD card reader has full functionality:

Xfce wall is a quick still life shot while I was hanging with the kids this afternoon.

Pretty awesome looking. You're actually using 3% of your swap file? What are you running that does that? I can't remember ever having activity on the swap file - none that registered with conky, htop, or any other system utility.

I've Got a Life / Re: Used to cycle

Mine needs to be tuned up as well. We have moved twice in the last 5 years - wife has to keep transferring to stay employed - and the movers have not been kind to my bike. Got the wife and kid's bikes fixed up fine, but mine needs a bit more effort.

Picked up a newish one for my oldest from the neighbors yard sale - taller bike for her; she is starting to get into it more so hopefully we can stretch out the rides.
