I used a Debian NetInstall, changed the repos to unstable, and installed packages similar to that in CrunchBang.  I'm quite happy with the results.  I diffed the Siduction manifest with a package list of my finished product and I'm not seeing any reason to use Siduction over what I've accomplished with the Debian NetInstall.

I learned something new today.  There never seems to be a time when you can know everything about Linux.  Anyway, http://http.debian.net is a mirrors redirector.  What does this mean?  Glad you asked; from the horse's mouth:

The service [mirrors redirector] allows many of the nearly 400 Debian mirrors to be made available via a single address, adapting to your network location, IP family connectivity, and service availability.

Today, I received an email from Debian stating that the mirrors redirector is now hosted on debian.org infrastructure under the name httpredir.debian.org.

Yes, those are all different forums, but technically not a place to discuss topics like I gave for examples.  VSIDO Discussion is for things about VSIDO.  I guess you could talk about newly discovered/favorite apps there.  "'buntu place"?  The Feedback and Suggestions forum is for feedback and suggestions about VSIDO.  One (or I anyway) would only post there if one wanted to recommend an app for inclusion in VSIDO.  I'm a black and white type person and sometimes have trouble adapting to situations where I have to operate in a grey area.

Is the Liquorix kernel used by default in VSIDO?

Verbage presented when registering for the forums says something about not responding to a thread where the last post is over a year old.  However, I went to post to a thread where the last post was over 120 days old and was presented with a warning stating such.  Am I getting on your nerves yet...and you don't have a demon smiley icon...

Okay, I can understand that, but there are technical topics that don't fit any of the current forums.  Where can users go to discuss distro hopping, favorite or newly discovered apps, etc.?  Or do you not want those types of discussion either?

Whoops...could have answered one of my questions if I had noticed your signature. 

I decided to register for the forums because I had a question.  I've used CrunchBang Linux full time since March 2012.  In fact, I know VastOne from when he was a forum moderator for the CrunchBang forums.  I also see some familiar usernames here in the forums who have also posted in the CrunchBang forums.

I tried VSIDO not too long after it came out, but didn't care for fluxbox and wasn't sure how to get rid of it and install and configure openbox and tint2.  I've progressed quite a bit since that time in my Linux knowledge and am considering giving VSIDO another look.

I have played with a number of other distros in my time of Linux use:  Mandrake, Ubuntu, Xubuntu, Kubuntu, antiX, Siduction, LinuxBBQ, Antergos (very nice Arch derivative), PCLinux OS, GoboLinux, Mepis, Salix,  SparkyLinux, Mint, Mint DE, and SolydXK.  I also use SystemRescueCD on a USB stick for resolving PC issues.
