Have you done any changes to your grub resolution since installing?  I have seen issues with tty1-6 when grub resolutions where changed

Thank you blaze, your feedback is appreciated.. I look forward to hearing more about your adventures.

Consider dmenu added to the next ISO I build...  :)

I am so impressed by the sheer genius levels of design and artwork from you all here...

It is absolutely brilliant..  jst_joe and lwfitz, you both might want to consider a career change..

Well done all!

I ended up installing this add on InstantFox ...

I had been wanting a single bar for both URL and Search anyway and this adds it.. it is also very flexible in adding new or managing search engines

For anyone happy as clams with their installs, there is no need to download and start over...

I have been posting what the changes are and providing either scripts or the process to update manually

The ISO was updated, built, installed, tested and uploaded with no issues this afternoon.  The primary changes were:

1 - Updated the kernel to the latest Debian Stable kernel of 3.8.2

If you want to update to this kernel just do the following

sudo apt-get -t experimental install linux-headers-3.8-trunk-all-amd64

sudo apt-get -t experimental install linux-image-3.8-trunk-amd64

then

sudo update-grub

In my tests the kernel was running in a lot less ram and cpu usage

Yes, it is a bug in the latest iceweasel where all search engines fail from the search bar

It is a real pain, I use that quite a bit

I just open up a google page and search from there

Having said that, I am open to anything (a change) that can match those tasks at those levels of memory usage

Aye, it is the default panel.. there are two actually... a systrsy panel on the top right and a launcher / tasks panel on the bottom

A script is used (using wmctrl and xdotool) to 'iconify' all apps instead of opening multiple events of the apps

The primary reason is these two panels use less than 8 MiB with no memory leaks

Aye, I ended up using Compton and it works quite well with Fluxbox... The only issue I see is on boot with my Conky panel, I have to open it and save it twice for transparency to actually work with it ... It has a chalk white film over it until I do that

I do use the Slit for that top panel, and it works out great... One of the things I had always wanted with that panel was the ability to autohide it.  With Slit, I can do that

Thanks PackRat...
