Both VSIDO FSA's were updated to the new 6.6.15-amd64 kernel

You can download the btrfs and ext4 fsarchives at the VSIDO download site here

There is also a How To on how to effectively use fsarchive to get this installed

There is a current a package list that shows everything that is installed in VSIDO. Please review this file and let me know of anything needed, removed or added

Hello Gordon and I want to apologize for the issues you are having. The issue is with InMotion, the new hos I have purchased this year has a cap on speed and amount of dload size.. I did not know this until this week and they will be disposed of soon, a new host will be purchased and all this can be resolved

Until then, you can download the VSIDO ISO's and the latest fsarchive files at this link here

I have edited the link to point to the correct location...

Thanks for the replys. Do I have to have the 2019 iso installed or will it run from the dvd. If i copy the fsarchive file to a usb will it work from there.
Cheeres
Gordon

It will need to be on a bootable USB or DVD whichever you burn to.. The bigger question and what will make it much easier is if you have a Linux install on this machine right now. If you do and it uses grub, then you already have grub installed and you can simply use fsarchive from that distro (MX?) and install to a blank partition and then run grub-update and you can then boot to VSIDO

Let us know

I'm trying to get back onto VSIDO. At present I'm on MX I  and don't really like it. I only left because I couldn't get VSIDO to work on the 2019 version. Just been looking at the latest downloads and  I don't understand what's going on as there doesn't seem to be an iso only a list of files and I have no idea what to do with them.
how do I come back? please
don't forget I'm a bit of a numnut always asking stupid questions

cheers
Gordon  :)

Hello Gordon, it is good to see you again. I believe that every question has value and that we will do our best to help.

To get you started, the list of files to download now includes fsarchived files that now install VSIDO which is explained here regarding the return of VSIDO.

In this How To link you will find several methods explaining the VSIDO Installation Guide for the fsarchive version and files that you now see. Don't be alarmed at how much information is there, it is several methods to install it. One of them will work for you, and we will help you every step of the way if necessary. If you already have a linux distro installed and have grub running, it will definitely be easier.

Download the fsarchived files, choose the install method you are comfortable with and let's get you back.

I took a chance on The Promised Land based on some stellar reviews of the film I read here on IMDB and they were not at all wrong

A disturbing look at what we can do to one another in a #fascist world, and it's not at all about that, just my take on it.

I highly recommend seeing this film, it won't disappoint you

I love VirtualBox and have used it for as long as I have used Linux (going on 15 years now) but they can be slow as heck in releasing fixes and updates

Quote from: DeepDayze on December 23, 2023, 11:36:05 PMThanks for this and wasn't aware of this new way to install VSIDO. Would been cool if there was a way to set this up on a UEFI system perhaps with a script to run to then mount the EFI partition after the fsarchive has been successfully restored and then install the grub EFI packages and set it up to boot.
Hey Dayze, good to see you.. I believe PackRat and Jedi have talked about that and possibly have come up with a solution.

In your scenario does the UEFI system already have grub on it? If the answer is yes then wouldn't a update-grub on that system then find the VSIDO install and then you could manipulate grub from there whatever way you wanted to, right?
