VSIDO Changes / Testing a new theme here on the forum
August 18, 2023, 07:35:50 PM
I have found a dark theme I really like and may keep.. The only thing I would like to change is making the Search Element right below the Top left section into a News Element.. I'd also like to change all the Orange and Yellow shite into a blue #5E7FA2

Let me know what y'all think

VSIDO Changes / Email settings and Notifications
August 14, 2023, 02:55:06 AM
With the move to the 2.1.4 version of SMF it appears that all email notifications to replies and messaging was turned off in favor of the Alert notification. If you want to receive email notifications you have to set that up again in your Forum Profile and Notifications Settings

VSIDO News & Announcements / VSIDO host transferred
August 01, 2023, 06:37:34 PM
I spent the last 10 days of DNS Propagation hell with a new Host and it turned out to be a setting the old host had that transferred and did not work on the new one (dnssecc)

I also lost the last two weeks of posts due to an issue with closing out the old host one.com

Not everything is setting yet, I am continuing to work out kinks and will report back when those are done. The primary remaining issue now is https ssl/tsl settings

I took the plunge to upgrade to the latest version of SMF to 2.14

The host has been a bitch lately, they being one.com because of several database errors that they claimed were not true because they could not replicate the error. I ended up giving them the solution and I believe they applied it since I have not seen the database error in a while..

As you see, the look for now is obviously quite different, I have a couple of themes I will be playing around with but to be fair and honest, I miss Crip the amazing human being who he was and his theme that we used for a decade

Holler at me if you run into any issues and I am always open to suggestions

VSIDO Discussions / Errors when accessing vsido.org
July 02, 2023, 04:02:03 PM
Is anybody else seeing this error at all when accessing vsido.org?

The SELECT would examine more than MAX_JOIN_SIZE rows; check your WHERE and use SET SQL_BIG_SELECTS=1 or SET MAX_JOIN_SIZE=# if the SELECT is okay

Out of complete boredom and / or just for shits and giggles, I created a fully functional VSIDO fsarchive today that will install and create VSIDO on a btrfs system. I have tweaked the fstab to support the btrfs system but other than that I have left it status quo

If anyone gives a shit, you can download the vsido_btrfs_25JUNE2023.fsa fsarchive at the VSIDO download site here

General Support / Fluxbox questions
December 04, 2022, 12:23:06 AM
Got anew receiver that brought 4k onto my desktop and instead of trying to revert back to 1920*1080 I decided to just make everything bigger and stay with the 3840*2160 resolution

I have done all right on everything except for icons within apps such as Chrome and SpaceFM, they are tiny as can be and even the url bar has tiny font that looks like it is 6 dpi or even smaller. Perhaps it is more a nVidia issue than a fluxbox but I thought I'd ask

lxappearance has been no help and google has not done much better
