Cool
I just setup Virtual Box yesterday so I'm ready to test things like a madman.  :D
#62
How will that affect your builds?

VSIDO News & Announcements / remastersys is no more
April 28, 2013, 09:46:08 PM
I was getting update errors regarding remastersys and went to the website  seems the developer has discontinued it.
I just commented out those lines in /etc/apt/sources.list for now.

Thanks Luke!
Nothing wrong with not trying to reinvent the wheel.
I use lots of different scripts, plug-ins and brushes...
Makes things more fun playing with different combinations.  ;D

^ Very Nice!  :)
Is that a plug-in or script that you're using on the lettering or are you doing it manually.

Welcome to VSIDO lizbeth!
I don't think VastOne has setup an official vsido repo yet but you could create those directories after install and set their mount points in /etc/fstab.
Or symlink the original directories to the ones you create, I think that should work.

Thats kind of what I was thinking. I am going to install on another machine then move the drive over to the laptop.

Great minds  ;D

Forgot to mention  ::) I had to change /etc/fstab to uuid's to get things to work.
Good luck on the project.

^ Don't know if it would work or not but you could try the install on the usb on a different machine then change the kernel to a non-PAE through smxi.
I can boot this sdhc on my lapy and an older Dell 531S desktop but they're both capable of running PAE kernels.

jedi did a great write up 32 bit VSIDO Linux Released Today on his site.
Sector11 posted a comment "I wonder it it can be installed to a usb stick."
Well I had an empty 16gb sdhc and a usb adapter.  ::) Why not?

^ Believe me if it can get messed up...
I can do it!
When people ask if I know what I'm doing...
I tell them, "No but I fake it real well and I think it'll work..."
"I saw it in a cartoon once!"

Just an update:
Installed Liquorix and Aptosid kernels with smxi both ran about 25MB higher memory usage at boot.
I've got 1GB ram and 2GB swap on the laptop so it's a non-issue but I'm using this install to test things out.
If I brake it, oh well nothing ventured nothing gained. I've got my configs saved and a re-install is easy enough.

Lut me fik it bozz, I allwuz unted to werk on a transmisision puter befere.  :D

Thanks jedi.
I probably won't install gimp on the laptop, I like full KB/Mouse combos for graphics.
Plus 1280x800 res is a PIA for my aging eyes. ;)
