Hi PackRat

Thanks for the clarification

As far as I  can see I'm going to have to  buy a wireless card as i can't find any mention of wireless in the online manual or for that matter Bluetooth but i have a Bluetooth adapter so that's working anyway

Hi PackRat,

At the moment my PC is hardwired to the router.
The system info says that my Ethernet controller is a
Realtek Semiconductor Co., LTD RTL-8110SC/8169SC Gigabit Ethernet (rev 10)
I assume that is what you mean

Hi folks
Still struggling with my printer and been doing loads of reading.
There in no wireless extension on enp2s15 and I have been trying to find out how to add one with no luck. my card is a Realtek RTL-8110SC/8169SC Gigabit Ethernet GA-MA69G-S3H.
The only thing I have managed to find so far is various people recommending removing the driver r6189 saying that it worked and it then appeared in " nmcli ".
My question Is that the best thing to do and if it doesn't work will I be able to reinstall it.
I have just updated to the latest kernel and done the latest update, read all the info and as usual have no idea what is being talked about  :D  :D
again help is required please and thank you

Hi PackRat

The Debian forum is a waste of time. I don't remember joining them before but I must have done so but now i can't remember my password and every time i try to request a reminder / reset email they tell me the username and email address are invalid yet if i try and register with them they tell me that they are already in use so I have no way of getting on or telling them that they have a problem.
Anyway thanks for the help but still no luck I'm afraid

Hi PackRat

Just run the command that you suggested and got the following

This is sane-find-scanner from sane-backends 1.0.31-debian

  # sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect your scanner. If the
  # result is different from what you expected, first make sure your
  # scanner is powered up and properly connected to your computer.

Hi VastOne

Thanks for the reply and info. Sorry that I haven't answered before now but been very busy with doing a cross stitch dragon that I have been doing for about 4 years now and have nearly finished at last. Anyway
I have installed gnome-themes-standard but xsane still can't find the scanner part of the printer. I'll try reinstalling the drivers again now that i have installed what you said and see if that makes any difference  :)

Hi Folks

I have been trying for some time to install the scanner part of the above printer series.
I have downloaded and tried to install the drivers that Epson  list and have had no success at all so far. As far as I am aware the drivers have been installed, well according to gdebi, but sane xsane say that they can't locate the scanner, not detected, and I have no idea where to go from here. I have run sane-find-scanner and that came up with libusb:001:002 but it is not certain that is correct or something like that. Running xsane in root terminal i get

Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "adwaita"

I have no idea what else there is that I can try help required please.  :(

General Support / Way over my head
July 02, 2020, 02:22:49 PM
Hi folks
Its all way above me this. I had broken symlink files which i have after reading loads deleted them all. That leaves me with thousands of " missing-copyright-files ". I have spent ages reading pages of stuff on the net but can't find anywhere that tells me how to reinstall them, at least nothing that i understand, so would appreciate some help / advice on what i should do about them. This all stems from trying to install my all in one ET-2750 scanner driver. ( still not installed ) the printer itself is working. I also have loads of "  undefined-symbol " errors and loads of other stuff too. I guess the only thing to do is a complete reinstall

Hi PackRat

Thanks for that.
It created a 38 page doc so all I have to do now is figure out how to correct broken symlinks and all the others now.
Good fun what   :D :D

Hi Folks

Well I installed adequate the other day as i found out the it told you about problems on your PC, Which it did. It told me that were were over 2400 errors / problems
but they scrolled past so fast that i could read them and i have no idea where it has stored them, I assumed that it does keep them somewhere, and i can't find the file / folder.
I did notice that it said there were broken file / symlinks which I need to fix but I can't get it to list just the broken files. I did try " adequate --all -deconf " but that didn't have them in it either.
so again I have no idea what to do and although I looked on debian site all I could find was a list of the things if checked. looking through the code I did see the list that it runs. Can I just hash out the ones that i don't want at the moment or will that cause havoc
