Title: (SOLVED) Put a hold on Iceweasel
Post by: VastOne on March 23, 2014, 09:18:41 PM
Information to all...

Iceweasel Aurora 30 has been released and VSIDO users who are up to date with dist-upgrades will get the new update

The issue is nothing will save and no settings will load.  This is a known bug and should be corrected very soon but in the mean time you may want to consider putting a hold on Iceweasel version 29.  You can do this like so

sudo apt-mark hold iceweasel

When the error is corrected you can unhold it like so

sudo apt-mark unhold iceweasel

One could also edit  /etc/apt/sources.list and comment out

deb http://mozilla.debian.net/ experimental iceweasel-aurora

for the same results

I just dloaded the nightly build of Firefox and ran it ... 31.0a1 (2014-03-24) ...

Everything has been fixed and it is running perfectly. Users just need to wait for the packing to make it to the debian servers/repos. I think that will happen in a couple of days

Iceweasel (30.0a2 (2014-03-28)) was finally updated in SID today and this issue is now resolved

Nightly Firefox is still a great choice and fun to run and see daily changes
