Title: Interesting Debian Page
Post by: tlinsley on October 16, 2013, 04:02:03 AM
Ran across this Debian page and thought it interesting in light of the recent iso dieting here...

Reducing the size of the Debian Installation Footprint (https://wiki.debian.org/ReduceDebian#Removing_non-critical_packages)

Looks like they and I have differing definitions of "non-critical package".  I will be one pissed off console jockey if someone removes ssh, traceroute, or netcat from my system!  Come to think of it, removal of grub would grind my gears also.

??? no, not my nano and you want my mtools?  Never :) Actually interesting list and good find.  I think I will go through it line by though, for example they suggest removing mutt and later on say to use less space install mutt.  Always looking for stuff like this though. Thanks tlinsley.

Oh yea and grub is crap but it's seems like better crap than the other crap.
