VSIDO V-Ger release - Nothing new but the year and the move to kernel 4.9
V-Ger sees all!
- Updated to latest Debian SID kernel – 4.9.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.2-2 (2017-01-12)
- Updated all applications to the latest SID levels

Downloaded the 64-bit iso without issue. The md5sum checked out; resucue thumbdrive updated 8)

^ A new version of fsarchiver came out.. I get all tingly when that is updated... My favorite tool, ever!

2: Run the savefs portion of fsarchiver.
single-dual core PC with 1GB or less RAM,
sudo fsarchiver -z7 savefs /mnt/iso/buildos.fsa /dev/sdc2
single-dual core PC with more than 1GB of RAM,
sudo fsarchiver -z8 savefs /mnt/iso/buildos.fsa /dev/sdc2
quod core PC with 4GB or less RAM,
sudo fsarchiver -j3 -z8 savefs /mnt/iso/buildos.fsa /dev/sdc2
quod core PC with more than 4GB of RAM,
sudo fsarchiver -j3 -z9 savefs /mnt/iso/buildos.fsa /dev/sdc2
PC with more than four cores and a plenty of RAM,
sudo fsarchiver -j4 -z9 savefs /mnt/iso/buildos.fsa /dev/sdc2
.....suggested-edit.....
The above ensures performance-compression ratio is balanced.

Edit: I also changed the second part on how to correct the uuid so you can boot. The chroot method is so much cleaner

And yes the chroot method is the better option for updating grub configuration.
BTW how much the backup of your build FS weighs if you use '-z9 savefs' option. It was around 1GB mark with default compression option if I remember it correctly.

On the Build fsa's they are only 750 MiB
On this my normal machine with my apps installed it is 1.2G
