found this un-known (for me) web browser called Pale Moon

and repositories for Debian 8

A couple of us have checked it out - check out the browser comparison thread (http://vsido.org/index.php?topic=921.msg10483#msg10483)
downloaded and installed from repo for jessie 8 by adding to repos, and use apt-get install
it was only a 22.8 mb download, it is half of the size of a less capable midori
plays YouTube videos, used it to pay online bills @mybank
so far it looks very good to me

I'm trying it these days too. It looks and feels quite familiar... or should I say like an old Firefox? (It forked from kinda FF 25 and still looks like that at first sight). It feels fast, capable and launches way faster than the current fox with much less extra fancy stuff I don't want. Plays videos in html5 ROOTB unlike FF. I'm not worried about the size in the HD, it's clearly smaller, but the RAM usage is also noticeable lower. Overall I'm liking it.
Some FF addons don't work in Palemoon, but there are equivalents and alternatives. I'm only missing "Open With". I'm trying to figure out a way to launch other apps from guerilla scripting (A kind of Grease Monkey). mainly to use mpv and fully avoid flash and also the html5 players that never seem to perform so good.
