For nearly a year I have been without a tool I really enjoy and have used a lot in the past
d-feet was loading but without showing any data. I finally traced that back to the hicolor-icon-theme not being properly installed
The following corrected it
sudo apt-get install --reinstall hicolor-icon-theme
As we all know, a scrot or it ain't so...

d-feet has long since been removed from VSIDO so if you want to use it again it will need to be reinstalled also
