Title: Favorite mono font?
Post by: Snap on September 22, 2015, 07:36:54 AM
Please, share your favorite monospace fonts for minimal eye straining. I'm very picky with the fonts. I've found my holy grial ttf for most uses; OpenSans. but for the monos I'm still not comfortable enough. I tipically use DejaVu Sans Mono. It's quite good, but still far away from the OpenSans easy reading. Post your favs and suggestions. I'm all eyes.  8)

PS, I forgot it. The best ones around size 9. Size uses to make a big difference. For Dejavu I find size 9 too rough and size 8 smooth enough, but starts to be too small.

Thanks, PackRat.

Terminus - so so
Inconsolata - installed it yesterday and looked really weird

Gonna try the other two

Fira Mono, Anonymous Pro, Pragmata Pro, Proggy, Neep, zevv-peep, Gohu, UW ttyp0, Creep, Triskweline, Monaco, Audimat Mono, BPmono
Most of these are not the usual suspects but they are good.
Cheers!!!

Thanks, hackerdefo. Tried some of those and already knew some others, but Source Code Pro is the winnner. Excellent font.

Thanks a bunch, PackRat!  8)

Hmmm... It's excellent on editors, but for some reason it's not that great (smooth) in terminals. Back to dejavu sans mono book there. Anyway it's exactly what I was searching; Something great for the editors.
