VSIDO Debian II ISO's updated 12-Oct-2013 18:40 CST
- The 64 Bit ISO was updated, built, installed, tested and uploaded today with no issues
Brought back XFCE 4.10 and WICD. This decision was based on customer input (inexperienced users). ceni is still available for we geeks (or you can go real hardcore and edit /e/n/i)
- Installed lshw (could have sworn it was part of Debian base tools)
- Installed firmware-realtek for realtek wifi support out of the box
- updated to latest SID levels
So, brcm80211 (http://"http://packages.debian.org/firmware-brcm80211") package for Broadcom wifi didn't make it for this release? :)
I do not recall it being asked for, it (firmware-brcm80211) will be on the next ISO release next weekend
Thanks
so this new one is with xfce instead of fluxbox?
No...
VSIDO is now
i3 for Total Minimalists
OpenBox for the next level of Minimalists
FluxBox as Mid Level Minimalist (and is the Default on a new install)
Xfce 4.10 for Brand New Linux Converts from Windows
Any one of the 4 can be used from the LightDM login screen
VastOne I don't think it was specifically asked for but it would be nice to see. Nice work as always :)
^ Thanks...
It has been added and an upload will happen today most likely as I am also updating the i386 ISO
Decided to start afresh... once again... ::)
@blaze
My sincere apologies for leading you down this path... :o
@VastOne, apologies accepted. You know, "There is nothing like the smell of a fresh install in the morning". ;D
@Vastone: when gonna be the new 32-bit release?
I am working on it... should be this weekend
^ looking forward to it, i'm not so finding my way into fluxbox so xfce is the one i'm waiting for ;)
^ drum, FluxBox, Xfce, OpenBox and i3 are all on VSIDO now... all you have to do is choose the one you want from the top right menu on the login screen when you left click the leftest icon...
It's there my friend...
EDIT
ooops my bad...
I forgot you are wanting the 32 bit...
I have a golf tournament this weekend, I promise to have it done mid next week
^golf it man and relax :D, i can wait a half week ;)
Decided to take today off to rest up for the tournament tomorrow... (rest my weary body that is)
Finished the x32 build and it is uploading now... It will be done in one hour
I will post here and on the forum and on the ChangeBlog as soon as it is done
VastOne...you never seem to stop! Looking forward to trying the 32 bit as I still like to play an occasional retro game which only wine can handle.
Knock 'em dead at the tourney tomorrow 8)
Thanks zbreaker! I think you will enjoy the 32 bit...
I appreciate the good luck karma!
All done... had an internet issue that slowed down the upload
Read about the 32 bit version of VSIDO here (http://vsido.org/blog/?p=77)
^big thanks for this one, downloading right now
Just installed last night. Welcome script followed by a little smxi...just settling in. So far all is humming along nicely!
