Here's what I've experienced so far on the x86 install on my laptop.
When running vsido-welcome (hard-wired to my router).
Update worked and dist-upgrade seemed to work.
Continued on and hit the any key to continue, everything flashed by so fast I knew nothing got installed.
I ran update again in terminal and noticed gpgp errors with deb-src ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ sid main contrib non-free.
I've run into this before and changed to deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ sid main contrib non-free.
Re-ran vsido-welcome most all went well, what didn't are probably just dependency issues.
So far scrot, openssh are the ones I've noticed but if you look at my Screenshots (http://vsido.org/index.php/topic,293.msg4405.html#msg4405) post 55.6 MiB of memory.
I'm not complaining because now I have my favorite distro on this POS and it's running like a Bat Out of Hell. ;D
Now that is great to hear jst_joe.... Glad that POS lives a few more days...
Now I am off to listen to some Meatloaf, Bat Out Of Hell ... ;D
^ OK, now I'll have that song in my head for the rest of the night.
Great Work on the x86 build, haven't tried smxi.
Does it work on x86?
Absolutely...
Just like x64 it is already installed...
Have fun!
I will. :)
Thanks
hey jst_joe! A quick heads up since I know your into the graphic arts thing like falldown! To install gimp, you'll have to do it via the -t experimental route;
"sudo apt-get -t experimental install gimp"
That'll get you Gimp installed in the 32 bit architecture! Not sure about Blender. Haven't tried it yet...
Thanks jedi.
I probably won't install gimp on the laptop, I like full KB/Mouse combos for graphics.
Plus 1280x800 res is a PIA for my aging eyes. ;)
Just an update:
Installed Liquorix and Aptosid kernels with smxi both ran about 25MB higher memory usage at boot.
I've got 1GB ram and 2GB swap on the laptop so it's a non-issue but I'm using this install to test things out.
If I brake it, oh well nothing ventured nothing gained. I've got my configs saved and a re-install is easy enough.

Lut me fik it bozz, I allwuz unted to werk on a transmisision puter befere. :D
^ hehe...
Interesting that Liquorix is running higher... I was booting at 84 with the debian and dropped to 62.5 with Liquorix
Thanks for the update J_J
^ Believe me if it can get messed up...
I can do it!
When people ask if I know what I'm doing...
I tell them, "No but I fake it real well and I think it'll work..."
"I saw it in a cartoon once!"
