How To : Fix Nouveau Graphics Weirdness

This How To will explain and fix the nouveau graphics weirdness that has plagued VSIDO from the beginning.  For whatever reason, nouveau caches images in the memory of the card and when logging into VSIDO, you can get some interesting rainbow looking screens that last just a second

This How To will show you how to fix it.

This has to be run outside of Xorg and lightdm so first exit everything,  logout and then and drop to tty1

Code Select Expand

ctrl + alt + f1

Next we need to kill lightdm and Xorg

Code Select Expand

sudo systemctl stop lightdm

Next we need to create an xorg.conf

Code Select Expand

sudo Xorg -configure

This copies it to /root/xorg.conf.new and we need to copy it to X11 this way

Code Select Expand

sudo cp /root/xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf

That's all... just reboot with

Code Select Expand

sudo shutdown -r now

and Profit! 

You should never see the graphics bonanza again...
