ppd is basically your printer driver; and will be either 64 or 32 bit.

What brand and model of printer are you trying to get working? If you go to the manufacturers site, they may provide a driver package or ppd; or there may be a 3rd party site for that particular manufacturer.

There use to be a Linux Print(ing) website that had a whole lot of ppd files available - site may be obsolete now, but worth a try. I think this is it - https://www.openprinting.org/printers

Run the following commands,
sudo cups-genppdupdate

sudo restart cups
And print something with your fingers crossed ;)

Hi  each

@ PackRat

Thanks for the reply. My printer is an Epson DX5000 The Driver for it is DX4800 But all is working again now thanks.

@ hakerdefo,

Thanks for that , The first command cured the problem but the second command did not work, it said it could not find restart or something on them lines but not to worry as it is printing again now. I did try google but every time it sent me to another site I hadn't a clue as to what I was looking at  ;D

Again thanks to both for your assistance, Much Appreciated   :) :)
Cheers :D
