one of the greatest losses in music... Michael Hutchence ... and the end of INXS. Also one of the best live bands ever

QuoteEvery one here has excellent and eclectic taste that I truly admire .... [snip]

so true; best thing about this thread is hearing some music from artists I never heard of, or hadn't listened to in years.

^ Yar... I am without an electric at all for the first time in 20 years so I should back off the golf and get a Paul Reed Smith...  ::)

They are indeed pricey!

PRS has recently added a "budget" line, but hey, if your going to bag a "real" PRS, shoot for the stars 8)

Talking of guitars, two nice tracks with some good guitar works. The first one is from what I believe to be the best rock band in the world currently and the second track proves what a great musician can do once he stops producing 'pop' collaborations and instead do what he does the best, in his case play guitar.
Enjoy! Cheers!!!

Two very cool performances. Never had any exposure to The Black Keys previously. Have to look into them. Lots of raw energy and mood.
And Carlos...what can you say...the man is a true musician who plays from the soul at all times 8) 8)

I first heard them on a House or Bones episode, something like that... I listened to a few of their songs and forgot about them

I then saw them interviewed by Nic Harcourt on Guitar Center Sessions and I must admit I was blown away by the simplicity of their style and methods to create incredibly good music.

Sarah Barthel live has one of the most incredible voices I have ever heard.  Their passion is something I think other bands could learn from as well

If you can find the Guitar Center Session anywhere with them, I would highly recommend hearing what they have to say

BTW, I feel just about the same way about Phantogram as I do about Goo Goo Dolls or Jackson Browne... very good, very gifted and shares powerful and meaningful messages with us through great music

The dude constantly amazes me.

Phantogram is a new discovery for me! Great song!
And Jeff Beck is different from some other guitar greats as he has continued to evolve playing vastly different genres of music.

Something interesting and new for you guys. Here's a rock song in hindi and the lead guitar in this song is played by a female guitarist 8)
