Both ISO’s were updated, built, installed, tested and uploaded today with no issues all thanks to issues that hakerdefo raised while testing it – Thanks hakerdefo!

  • Updated to the latest UMPlayer and Mplayer
  • Installed libflashplayer.so so internet video works
  • Corrected the open file size issue by setting up gtkfilechooser.ini
  • Updated all applications to the latest SID levels

VSIDO III codename savant-hakerdefo released

After several months of thought and discussions on the direction of VSIDO, I am happy to announce the release of VSIDO III Codename savant-hakerdefo

The changes are extreme but minimal at the same time.  Over the last year I have had a lot of great input from several users and have molded that into this release

VSIDO III is a single DE model with FluxBox as the Windows Manager. FluxBox offers ease of use and looks great.  It has a simple editor to add anything to the menu and for new users, it is intuitive

The base applications have not changed and additional things have been added to vsido-welcome (zenity, geany).  The size VSIDO III is 412 MB, the smallest ever and remains a fully functional SID works out of the box distro

VSIDO Raptor II ISO’s will always be available for download (both x64 and x32), but no longer maintained

Both the 32 and 64 bit ISO’s and torrents can be downloaded from the VSIDO Download page

VSIDO Raptor 64bit ISO updated 05-DEC-2013 12:15 CST

The x64 ISO was updated, built, installed, tested and uploaded today with no issues.

  • Corrected the etc/issues /etc/issues.net configurations
  • Updated to the latest debian SID kernel – 3.11-2-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.11.10-1 (2013-12-04)
  • Updated all applications to the latest SID levels

The x32 ISO has not been updated due to SID forcing a gnome3 install on it at the moment

Both ISO’s were updated, built, installed, tested and uploaded today with no issues.

  • Changed the default GMusicBrowser configurations – (Thanks Jedi)
  • Updated GMusicBrowser to the latest GIT levels
  • Updated all applications to the latest SID levels

When you first run GMusicBrowser, just add your music directory / library and it will be all set with the correct plugins

Both ISO’s were updated, built, installed, tested and uploaded today with no issues.

  • Removed the need for a swap partition from the installer.  There are now two installers, one with no swap and one with swap from the System Menu on the Live CD
  • Updated to the latest SID kernel 3.11.6-2 (2013-11-01)
  • Installed suckless-tools with the latest dmenu options thanks to the great work from statmonkey (64bit)
  • Corrected lxpanel settings to correctly stay behind windows (thanks PackRat)
  • Installed mesa-utils (thanks Jedi and H2)
  • Updated the kernel to the latest SID levels
