Man...good old JW..listened to him for years. Since his very first album the man has been consistently one of the hottest
blues pickers out there. He went through a lot of tough times in his life, yet shines on.

OK..history warning here. Les Paul...along with Leo Fender they basically invented the electric guitar. I was fortunate to be at a show
at Fat Tuesdays in his prime. After the show I was the first up to the bar where Les happily autographed  his most recently released boxed cd set.
As a guitarist, I was high beyond belief!

^ Very nice... I play and have always been partial to a Fender, but Gibson has such cool gear and sounds

Since we are talking about guitars, this guy played electric guitar using his thumb rather than a pick. Charlie Daniels said about him,

QuoteHe played differently from anyone I'd ever known
Cause he did it all with his thumbHe could play as tender as a virgin's kiss
Or blast it all to kingdom come.

Here he is, son of the south, Toy Caldwell

Another of my favorite guitarists..Rory Gallagher..Irish, career mostly from 70's into the 80's....incredible electric and acoustic player. Died before his time of
liver cancer.

Lindsey Stirling - Transcendence.

Searched out this video in particular because her backing orchestra is a group called Landfill Harmonic - a bunch of impoverished teens from Paraguay who make their own instruments out of trash from the local landfill.

Warning - the last minute and half of the video is promotional stuff for her upcoming album and tour

They (critics) may label his work 'pretentious' but I have always been a sting fan.
