Non pae kernel required
« on: April 25, 2013, 05:20:53 AM »
I guess the title says it all. When I boot to the new 32 bit live disk I  receive this error (failsafe mode)

Code: [Select]
This kernel requires the following features not present on the CPU:
pae

Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.

Im attempting to install on an old HP pavilion ze4900

I can only build for PAE extensions CPU's ...   These were first introduced in 1995

How old is this machine?  I am shocked that it is not PAE capable

Its a Celeron M CPU and the machine was originally shipped with XP. I was quite surprised also.
That bug is interesting. So if I read it right its not actually a kernel/cpu issue its a syslinux issue. Ill mess with this tonight and see what I can come up with. Thanks VastOne
