The view's not that bad you just have to punch the knothole out.

Thank you Sector11... Well said!  8)

I would like to make a slight correction to the premise that VSIDO is spawned from CrunchBang. I am and have always been a Debian user first and everything that runs under that flagship is where the spawn really comes from, including CrunchBang and Ubuntu and now VSIDO. In other words, without Debian I do not believe any of us would be sitting here

I guess you could say that the genesis of VSIDO did start out of anger that Philip dropped Xfce support.  Although I completely understand why he did it, I felt that the Xfce community was losing it's very best distro that used it

Whatever led us down these roads is a good thing, and I happen to agree with what lowrider said over on that thread... The level of creativity that originated on CrunchBang is incredible.

One other thing I want to share. Philip has been nothing short of incredible supporting VSIDO with encouragement, assistance and of course some very cool scripts that he generously allows for use.  I am very grateful for these and even more for his friendship

OK, so what's 45¢ between friends.  :)

Thank you VastOne.  Guess that means I'm forgiven.

OK, I missed the mark about VSIDO being spawned from #! ... but not by a lot.

You certainly did fill in the gap nicely with what you felt the Xfce community lost.

Also nice to hear that you have the help and support of Philip - and his cool scripts.  He and Becky are good people no doubt about it.  Just makes #! a little more special doesn't it.

Anyway, I'm off to bed ... Night all...

I read the topic on #!, and it was really interesting. As a newbie in #! I didn`t really know the story behind #!, nor Vastone`s background, and it made me even more interested in VSIDO. Downloading the ISO now. Wil not mess it up with Gnome3 as I initially intended. I think I`ll keep #! with a well configured and working openbox-session, and my own awesome Gnome 3 Session. In VSIDO I intend to do something different. Not sure what yet, but that`s whats exiting... I probably will use xfce, tint2 and openbox together, as I suppose it is now, but try to put my own twist in there somehow:)

Anyway, I`m looking forward to start vsidoing a little. It better be good :P, because I intend to replace Ubuntu with it, on my main laptop with ssd, and there`s only two spots in total... 120 GB split on two distros. It will be interesting tonight, because it`s an uefi install, and Ubuntu acts as the master-grub now, so VSIDO must take Ubuntu`s place in EFI, and detect Crunchbang and add an entry for it in EFI. I guess there is a lot that can go wrong, but in worst case, I just have to start from scratch. First install VSIDO, then Crunchbang.
