Hi All

Nothing major this time, at least I don't think so.

At boot up I get the following Message, and no idea what it is on about

element ACPI could not find / resolve the named package element

it repeats itself a whole bunch of times before carrying on
It does not seem to affect anthing but thought you might need to know
Cheers :D

I have seen this also and since it appears to be a none issue I haven't pursued it..

I think it is something going on in kernel transitions right now

@gordon - laptop or desktop?

The kernel team did something with acpi a while back so now all these acpi errors and/or warnings show up when booting. I get about 6-7 of them any time I boot my laptop and never found a fix.

The 4.4 LTS kernel doesn't have these changes so I use it as my backup kernel.

Honestly said, though, I have used the 4.14 and 4.4 kernels enough now to know there are no performance degradations between the two. My battery life and temps are essentially the same.

If you're really motivated, you can find some acpi conversations at the kernel.org site. I read through a few but it was pretty much like reading Sumerian cuneiform.

Hi PackRat.

I use a desktop.

As for reading anything about kernel etc there is no point as I don't understand any of it. Its like when I do an update and there is a message included in it. i don't have any idea what it is on about, all i do is hit the q button

Thanks for the reply though
Cheers :D
