Bad weather for the last couple days; finished off my VSIDO install, and tweaked a couple themes:

What's stopped you; or just a matter of finances?

so true; best thing about this thread is hearing some music from artists I never heard of, or hadn't listened to in years.

^ I am happy to oblige my friend...

The best part I like is it takes all of 5 minutes to install no matter what the need is

That was the deciding factor. After properly configuring the partitions for the way I use the computer, it would take a couple days to get everything installed while figuring out the solutions for the compiling errors I was getting. No time for that.

Always time for fvwm though;

best part is you save me a couple hours having to build a custom sid install from scratch - thanks for that:

^ I see.

Well, funtoo ran it's course - nothing against it (or gentoo) pretty solid release; just more than I want to deal with at the moment. Back to VSIDO:

@vastone - thanks.

I've seen hardware related issues for other people trying to get Linux installed on a macbook pro; never paid them much attention since I don't have anything mac. I know that Arch has a rather lengthy wiki page about getting Arch up and running on a macbook though.

@lwfitz - you need to do something special to get the right click working?

^ Nice one. Has Opera started making a Linux version again?

Pretty much a drive by screenshot; liked the wall, trying to make a fluxbox style to go with it:

That makes sense; I'm set up pretty much the same way but unpack firefox into /opt not /browser.

The rest sounds like a theme issue. You can try some different theme/icon pairings to see if you get something legible.

You have to run firefox as root? Did you download and install it in /root?

I usually download the latest release from my user account, use sudo to get it installed in /opt (/opt/firefox after extracting), then create a symlink in /usr/local/bin - or /usr/bin if you prefer. No permissions issues then.

Were python and dbus also updated? Might want to run the vsido-exit script in a terminal and see if it throws a python or gtk error at you.
