Quote@Snap I don't know french so I'll take it as a joke ;)

Ooops... Don't know what happened. I don't know french either. The picture stopped working for some reason...  ::)

For the record, It was a scrot of the window made smaller without any icons, just like the original one. A simple row of plain buttons.

Gotta test V3 after breakfast.

I like this even better ;)

#33
^ Agreed. I like it plain too.

Huh, the exit script is significantly smaller than the usual ck/python version. Good job, hackerdefo. It's nice when you see small scripts doing big jobs.

BTW; hicolor is in the default Vsido-lite packages (at least in the 24jan2017 test iso), so nothing extra to install.

VSIDO Discussions / Re: VSIDO Build 2017
January 29, 2017, 07:57:40 AM
Amazing activity here, folks. That's how a team works! I really like the idea of this fat trimmed Vsido release.

If I'm allowed to chime in, now that you're finally fully adapting Vsido to systemd and redoing the exit script accordingly, is consolekit still necessary for anything else? I guess it might be left out of the equation. AFAIK, systemd is completely in charge of the former ck functions. Not sure about polkit. I guess it would be still needed for something.

QuoteNothing but rumors that systemd was phasing out fstab...  I think fstab is past its time and should be replaced and I am ready for it to happen

Oh, it isn't already? I thought this switch was already completed. Not experienced enough with systemd I'm afraid.

@dizzie: that's an amazing rig. Now you have to smoke it! I miss Xeons a bit, but since I don't (professionally) mix audio anymore. There's no need for them. Anyways my AMD Fx8350 serves me really well. I've never managed to stress it enough and put it down on its knees. I have way more power than what I need. The real bottleneck are the HDs. Slowly moving to all SSD. That's where the performance boost relies as of today.

Quote- A better PSU (I admit the "spaghetti" doesn't look pretty)

Ah, yes, modular PSUs! I failed on that too. I thought it was modular one when I bought mine. But discovered it wasn't when unpacking it. Now one of the side panels barely closes. Like an overdone suitcase. You need to push it really hard and fight a bit to lock it in position. Those damned wires... I'll need to replace it some of these days, but to say the truth  it performs wonders and it's totally silent. It's just the massive spaghetti leftovers...  ::)

BTW, Phenoms were some of the best bang for the buck CPUs AMD ever made.

@PackRat are you using dbus? I mean, starting fluxbox one of these two ways (without a display manager)

startx /usr/bin/startfluxbox

or simply

exec fluxbox #(into $HOME/.xinitrc)

takes care of dbus for the session?  No need for dedicated lines like this (or something similar)?

exec dbus-launch --exit-with-session startfluxbox

That's something to test in a clean virtual machine or a cloned one, I don't wanna mess my systems, LOL.

Will report back. Thanks hackerdefo.

A bash shell configuration tool? I'm really curious about this one. I guess you'll cover the essentials, otherwise it might end up as a very complex script.

Nice! I guess this could be adapted (stripped down) to set a small port monitoring pane via conky-cli in tmux under the transmission-remote-cli pane.

Thanks, PackRat.

@Packrat: How do you set your background?  I use hsetroot and the background is captured too. Maybe nitrogen is treated as a window by wmctrl.

^ I agree. That will be a great GUI tool for Vsido.

...though I have to say that it will put me away  from pmss  ::)

libgtk-3. Nope. I'm more than fine with dmenu and/or rofi for scripts GUI.
