Quite the resume you have there vrkalak.  I have known about you for several years and watched your path cross mine many times.  I had no idea how many things you were involved with. I am impressed!

I have been considering another WM as part of VSIDO and would like to know your thoughts about fluxbox.  Not as a user or maintainer but more of the value of having it as a choice within VSIDO

I look forward to your feedback about VSIDO, and what we can do to make it better... Both the distro and these forums

Thank you for joining and welcome to our slice of the debian world, I do hope you enjoy your stay!

since I took pre-update fsarchive backup  ;)

Like a BOSS... well done!  Glad to see another fan of fsarchiver.

I just used it yesterday to create another 3 build environments... I have the build now down to 1 gig via fsarchiver.  It takes about 4 minutes to backup and only 3 minutes to restore to a new machine

So every time I have a major change on the ISO, I simply fsarchive it from where it was built and just overwrite it on the other machines..

so clean it is SCARY ...  ???

@ tlinsley, as far as I know, nothing smxi does (update-grub after the towo install) or anything I have done or have implemented should have affected the previous kernel

This is curious...  Have you tried another update-grub to see what it shows?

New VSIDO ISO uploaded tonight

I fixed the Conky's to a generic that should fit all..

I corrected the VSIDO Persona in Firefox.  I was never aware it was an issue until I installed as a different user than vastone and saw it was washed out white

This has been corrected

Everything else is up to date SID as of 20FEB2013 18:45 CST

The upload will be completed in 20 minutes, thus the 18:45 CST time   ???

I have several partitions that are all the same on 3 different machines that I use as my build boxes..  Were you referring to an online buildbox?

Oh hell yes...  :)  A lot easier to see and maintain the changes and keep the script out of hands that may not understand it...  ???

@lwfitz... 90*90 is all any will ever be, and the reason why they were converted to png is there is a mod within this SMF that actually reduces all oversized avatars to 90*90 automagically...

Just another feature of SMF I really like!

Of course the most important part is having /etc/skel setup with all the configs so it brings what you want the desktop to be in the end... It really was not much different than setting up a normal OB and Xfce session to what you (me) use and taking out your personal parts of it...

Actually, I had every thing I wanted for quite a long time and kept trying to use debian live forever... Finally realized that the debian installer would not work on SID which was my objective.. About 4 months ago, remastersys delivered a functional wheezy based app that worked great on SID and had a fully functional and blazing fast installer built into it.  It is not as glamorous or has as many options as Debian's installer or partman, but it does get the job done.. It also was capable of using the xz compression on the kernel for the first time which greatly reduced the size of the ISO

Once I had that, it took me another month or so to really get the ISO size down by eliminating some of the cruft debian installs that is not needed...

From there it has been a tweak here and a tweak there, a couple of mistakes, a couple of rejects, and the realization that two of kernels I started with Liquorix and Siduction was overkill and too much to support... (but easy to get)... and here we are...

Remastersys is loaded with everything I used to create VSIDO on every install... I also have a 2.5 gig fsarchive of the actual stripped down file system if you want it ... It is completely functional... If you were to use Remastersys on a new install, you would need to use bleachbit root and localepurge to really get the size down...

Was that enough from my poor old foggy memory?

Do I need to bump up the size of the avatars?

Right now 90*90 is what it is set at, but I can change it if needed
