I created 3 new versions from falldowns classic orb

There is no need to install this for anything new

You also note that Xfce4 is still the default for VSIDO, I really like Fluxbox and I am using it, but Xfce was the reason for VSIDO to begin with
#3559
I updated the ISO with the latest SID updates and to make sure that Fluxbox was correctly setup

I built, tested and installed with no issues

For some tips on things you do after the initial install, see the Did You Know Thread

To eliminate the top right hand tint2 and make it a part of the bottom tint do the following:

sudo medit /usr/local/bin/.tint2oblaunchers/tint2rcallbtm

or if in Xfce

sudo medit /usr/local/bin/.tint2launchers/tint2rcallbtm

and make this happen under Panel

panel_items = LTS

That will add the systray to the right of the bottom Tint2

You can now then disable from Autostart or startup this

tint2 -c /usr/local/bin/.tint2oblaunchers/tint2rc &

or in Xfce

tint2 -c /usr/local/bin/.tint2launchers/tint2rc

That OB and Fluxbox use the same tint2 files

tint2 -c /usr/local/bin/.tint2oblaunchers/tint2rc &
tint2 -c /usr/local/bin/.tint2oblaunchers/tint2rcallbtm

but Xfce uses

tint2 -c /usr/local/bin/.tint2launchers/tint2rc
tint2 -c /usr/local/bin/.tint2launchers/tint2rcallbtm

This is because the menu button on the Tint2 bottom panel is controlled differently with Xfce

Fluxbox and Xfce also use the same .conkyrc file becasue both can handle the panel setting while OB uses .conky_ob_rc because it needs:

own_window_type desktop

The first time you boot to a Fluxbox session, you may see a terribly fugly brown menu

To correct this click the desktop Right Click Menu / Styles and select vsido_black and the problem is solved

A thread to park some tweaks that we do once installed

Here is one

For some reason, the tint2 icon for SpaceFM does not show up as it is supposed to

To correct it do this:

In SpaceFM go to View / Window Icon and put in

vsidosfm

Click OK and the issue is solved

I did the backup portion with -j 4 as well.  It took less than a minute for the backup from 5 gig to a 959 MiB fsa of the build system

As long as I have been using fsarchive, I always took for granted that it was 'fast enough'

Boy was I wrong...

#3565
Wow... Was I ever wrong...

I just did a restore with the -j 4 option and it finished a 1 gig restore in 24 seconds...

Incredible..

Later on I will do a savefs with it to see how fast that is...

Incredible..

Thanks tlinsley!
#3566
Yes it can, just add it in the bottom one

@blaze, thank you for the feedback and kind words!

I would like to hear more about what you do to 'unslick it' and what additional applications you install

Let me know and I will try to add or change it based on these discussions
