I've Got a Life / Re: What is your favourite sport?

^ Hello hakerdefo: Squash and racquetball are similar, just different size ball, racquet, rules and court size.

http://www.ehow.com/about_5417434_squash-vs-racquetball.html

Live in the US, state of Oklahoma. Texas is my original home and now retired should migrate back.

Soccer and rugby are very intense games and enjoy both, also like the fact the players don't have all the armor protection as in American football.

Cheers

Soccer,  took interest because of my grandsons, never played a game myself. The boys are young and teams are sometimes coed and the girls kick butt.  Soccer receives a lot of support here, and the oldest was selected for a two week soccer camp. Believe it is important to have kids into sports, help build character, teamwork and skills they will use throughout their life. Parents and grandparents take the sidelines and support them.

Getting older and a few spinal surgeries myself has made me into a bit of a gimp, takes a little to get around to start a day. My doctor says the same thing about swimming and forbids any strenuous work or activities. Just happy that I'm still mobile on my feet.

On some days think the  "posse" is taking me for a walk however.

Grew up close to Cotton Bowl in Dallas, loved football and the Cowboys. Over time and many years away from continental US lost contact and appreciation for the sport. Racquetball was the game that I personally enjoyed.

Now my grandsons have shown interest in soccer and attend their games and practice, it is my sport of choice for entertainment.
Don't use or have cable or satellite TV, but on occasions while visiting family enjoy watching any World soccer team match.

@Vastone: Congrats on the hole in one!

^ thanks jenom!

Have been aware of Pale Moon for a while, decided to give it a shot!

Installed Pale Moon and impressed with it so far, uses flash and you-tube works just fine.

Used wget for install and didn't notice the Debian installer package at bottom of page, hidden past scroll. Going to test this for a while and see how it works out.

Greetings to everyone! : )

^ Ran a d-u little after midnight, browser failed. Changed iceweasel to firefox in menu, and it now works.

Read a couple weeks back in DW that Debian might be switching back to FireFox, I would guess with sid first. My stable and testing installs are not affected.

Many people moved away from M$ for one reason or another, ponder the percentage did for that very reason...exploit-ware in it's various forms.

^ I had a copy of Windows XP Pro, the last Microsoft edition I owned.

It made a nice coffee coaster once I moved to Linux and Debian! : )

Since I moved to my new place, either haven't unpacked it or lost it somewhere. : (

Installed 2016Feb21 VSIDO iso and rebooted. Ran d-u without welcome-screen and no conflicts. Ran vsido-welcome screens one at a time, rebooted, and ran d-u and reboot with each individual screen. No conflicts. I did want to isolate which screen.

live-boot-Initramfs-tools is installed but does not cause conflict as before.

Installed Pithos, works nicely.

All works as advertised on this end, complete install to metal without previous past issue.

Thanks

General Support / live-boot-initramfs-tools conflict
February 22, 2016, 05:15:25 AM
Installed to metal and all went well, reboot to visdo-welcome and completed. Reboot and re-ran d-u (often do on a fresh install) and initramfs-tools was prompted to update, y and then error code 1. Ran check and live-boot-initramfs-tools was installed. My guess this is a conflict and maybe live-hook the culprit. Removed live-boot-initramfs-tools and rebooted, and ran d-u, all clear and works as should with no errors.

Also Pithos failed and found the pithos file located in /usr/local/bin prevents it from running, commented it out and now works. Puzzled with why on that.
Thank you!

I have an icon set that I have used for several years, it is dark themed faenza called F-Variants. Problem is that faenza icon theme needs to be also downloaded to get the full effect. The icon works very well with a dark theme, and VSIDO to me has a certain mystique and look. Also found these years ago and direct downloaded, I have the complete set of 18 different sets, although to me there is only 2 that are distinctly different. The complete 18 set is 22mb, only one set is needed and about 1.2mb. The URL is where I have recently found a link, but yet not downloaded because I have them. I would be happy to upload these sets to MEGA for a closer look.

These icons work the best on a dark background, look crappy on a lighter background.

@VastOne: Works! Instructions easy and complete, followed steps and Openrc is installed. Ran Ceni and have eth0 now as well. On bootup script stated Openrc so I would guess all is well and complete.

This was on a fresh drive and most recent release, ran "vsido-welcome" screens, note that some of the the packages like "gvfs" for Thunar were no longer present, and reinstalled so far what I am missing. May just re-run welcome screens.

Nice job, thanks - Z
