I have been running this debian sid netinstal -openbox w/ awn- (gimp, inkscape, agave, avidemux, and blender) for a little over a year... I thought I would give it a name.
And just for clarification.. I do use VSIDO (which has acquired my favorite dock) everyday. :)

There's a new program launcher on the block ... kinda clumsy because it's mechanical; so uses "no" memory. Originally came with Win 7 stuff ... but I modified it for, what else, VSIDO!

Next project is to clean it up (again) and make a conky for it. BTW, I did not do the "Program Launcher" text, whoever put the MS stuff up must have done that and messed with the graphics a bit. Must see if I can find the "original".

I was going to try it for my mother-in-laws super old Compaq Celeron but I think it's not going to work due to a non-PAE (?) CPU. I need to do more research on that aspect, first. I have no other 32bit computer to try it on.
Δ that's the same issue I'm having on my old HP with a celeron m CPU. Gonna try to figure something out tonight.
^ Don't know if it would work or not but you could try the install on the usb on a different machine then change the kernel to a non-PAE through smxi.
I can boot this sdhc on my lapy and an older Dell 531S desktop but they're both capable of running PAE kernels.
Thats kind of what I was thinking. I am going to install on another machine then move the drive over to the laptop.
