Title: Happy Birthday Willie Mays
Post by: PackRat on May 06, 2017, 11:24:22 PM
Willie Mays celebrates #86 (http://m.mlb.com/cutfour/2017/05/06/228627416/happy-86th-birthday-to-willie-mays-member-of-the-600-home-run-club)

Arguably the best all around player ever - 5 tool player that knew how to use them all. (http://www.yougoprobaseball.com/what-is-a-5-five-tool-player.html)

Loved watching him play toward the end of his career when I was a kid. Wish I could have seen him in his prime.

As much as any icon in sport, Willie set the stage.. he was an incredible athlete that could have been great in any sport

I was a Reds fan as a kid.. the Big Red Machine against the Pirates, A's and Orioles in the 70's was unbelievable..

I've been an Orioles fan since 1966 when they swept the Dodgers.

Ron Swaboda's catch in 1969 still makes me cringe.
