Only 4c this morning here! :(
So refreshing to be back totally on Linux! Brand new laptop, and I probably had no more than 24 hours of use on it! Well, brand new on Feb. 28th... :D
Now both lappys are happy with Linux! Maybe I'll use this one (the new MSI) more now. We'll see...

Arch>Xfce4>WhiskerMenu Plugin>GMB (of course) and no conky, and not sure I'll bother on this one...

and soon to be 100% humidity with thunder and lightning as a bonus - good times in SE USA this week.
Nearly spring here, only another 3 weeks of winter!
Right now I would give anything for 4c temperature... Been in a 110+F real feel for the last 40 days
I have melted over and over and over... cannot even get out to ride a bike as the pavement is too hot on the thin tires (I ride by myself also and do not want to cook and never be heard from again)
My grandson John now at 5 months old.. ;D He looks just like his mother at this age.. so beautiful
(Cat behind him is Loki who is about to attack his mate a dog, not John) 8)

Damned glad you got it all sorted Jedi, I know it has been a frustrating ride...
Thanks, I'l stick out the cold! At least I can run around and get warm!
We'll be getting that fugly hot 40+c soon enough too, and there's never enough cold beer to cool me down so I can sleep! :(
I'm just testing my builds for the debian 8.6 release arriving soon, with the new theme and dmenu

Looks awesome.
That a patched version of dmenu?
Just a clean debian live-build this morning, and dmenu straight from the repos untouched.

dmenu_run -fn 10x20 -nf blue -nb black -sf black -sb white -l 20
Hard to believe, into the second week of August. Up here that means Summer is pretty much officially in the books! A scrot from the MSI which I continue to tweak on.

"The Cult" ROCK! Every song is incredible... 8)
(some seriously great garage music :D )
And another thing, Happy 4th Birthday to VSIDO! The 'rolling' distro lives on and is better than ever! hmmm something on nixnut maybe ....
yeah, yeah, I got Conky on my desktop again... It's like a fungus... ???
and yes, this is the 4th edit in the last minute and fifty seconds...

Fedora 24, Tint2, Conky, and of course the greatest - "Fluxbox"!!!
Got everything listed in my Fluxbox menu working thanks in large part to VastOne! Thanks friend! I'm actually kinda impressed at this point with my Fedora experience. Now to get keyboard lights working! The lights cover the color spectrum really well and look cool too. They work now which is why I haven't bothered, just in the original 'white' led lighting. Adjustable for brightness though!

Still need to work on getting rid of the conky weather. Something smaller for a template for TeoBigeekus weather script. Also need to tweak on the draw_bar.lua script. Oh well Conky sucks! ???
Did you install Fedora UEFI or reset the laptop to BIOS mode?
UEFI
Instant boot times
Had to tweak grub2 a bit to get it to boot, due to nvidia/nouveau issues. Basically everything just worked...
VSIDO Fedora 24 Fluxbox and all VSIDO goodies...
I might even try to create an ISO of this to see if it would install...
Surprisingly good setup and calm Fedora..

^ Nice; Fedora was always smooth when I was using it (Fedora 1 - 5), but they went in a direction where the user pretty much had to do what Fedora wanted them doing. There were some really nice 3rd party repos along the line debian-multimedia that were nice, but everything got standardized. Maybe they've mellowed a bit over the years.
fluxbox and i3 -

tinkering with the Iconbar configuration; usually just leave it at default settings except for getting rid of the mini-icon. Details in the Window Manager thread.
fluxbox + tint2 as panel -

Last one for August -
Debian Sid + Wayland + Sway window manager (https://github.com/SirCmpwn/sway)
(https://cdn.scrot.moe/images/2016/08/31/2016-08-31-091409_swaygrab.th.png) (https://scrot.moe/image/Cynu)
Followed this guid to get it installed - (https://github.com/SirCmpwn/sway/wiki/Debian-installation-guide); however, libinput5 doesn't appear to be in the repos, had to compile that myself.
I like i3 so this wm is pretty cool. Pretty stable if running terminal and cli apps. Had some issues with gui apps - no response to mouse, crashing - usual wayland issues on my end. Hopefully this wm sticks around, maybe make it into the debian repos.
