The swm window manager by dcat - (https://github.com/dcat/swm)(note there are 2-3 window managers named swm, including one of the firts wm's (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swm))
Configured the window manager/desktop using this method (https://bbs.linuxdistrocommunity.com/discussion/2325/how-to-install-configure-swm-wmutils) so needed to install sxhkd (xindkeys should work as well) and the wmutils (I suspect wmctrl could be used).
Minimal wm along the lines of cwm and evilwm, idles around 95 MiB on a 64-bit Intel i3. Has built in mouse control, but having to install and configure a key grabber and window control apps makes it sort of pointless - go with cwm or evilwm which have good internal bindings. Or compile xmonad and xmobar with cabal which you can see in the screenshot ;D

spacefm is much quicker than thunar, I'm using udevil as well.
I'm currently working on making the images as small as possible. Currently at 330mb with a text install booting to command-line. The target is 250mb for the first step.
Now that I know it will build and install, as is, I will start from a vanilla base and only add what I need.

I finally have a working live, not installable yet, image @ 207mb! :)

Solid, fast, and overall very pleasing to use. It's just Debian without the systemd monster :) But i'm still waiting for some systemd crap to come sneaking in :D
One we get passed jessie and onto ascii the likelihood of infection will be very unlikely. I'm using stable and I see some remnants of systemd, nothing active though.
I'm working on dwm + cli apps + no dm (startx).

Yes official Star release. :) I've compressed initramfs from 35mb to 19mb and non-live + text installer + startx I've had the image down to 220mb, still a work in progress though.
Is that sakura orange fog?
Not that I'm aware of. I ported an openbox theme that was in the bunsen labs screenshot thread. I may be a mod.
