Title: August 2015 Screenshot Thread
Post by: VastOne on August 01, 2015, 04:41:07 AM
August and the dog days of summer are now upon us...

Be wary of dist-upgrades for at least the next week... PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK

Be nice and remember to use thumbnails for your screenshots.

luv da moon

Given I cloned my vsido in order to explore spacefm features I decided drop the other two boxes in. Some fun for august.

First time Blackbox. It feels like a striped down Fluxbox. Interesting. Been there, done that.

Months away from OpenBox. Facing those xml config files again... Long live FluxBox!!!

Work in progress...

PS, who says OpenBox is lighter on resources than FluxBox? Same system with exactly the same stuff launched at login excepting the window managers themselves. FB idles @ 114 MB; OB @ 122 MB So....

Almost there. Minor tweaks to do. As an ex-crunchbanger I went for Crunchbang/Bunsen accents. What else! Dropped the themes in (the icons and a couple of hacks where already in my Vsidos). The tint2 and the conky came from my !# days and still in use.

Once again, every time I face OpenBox I feel that I prefer everything from FluxBox... excepting one single thing: The pipemenus. They're damn great stuff.

So exploring the BSD side too? I'm about to do my first two BSD installs. Both free and openBSD. But won't use Fvwm.  8)

Nice shots, BTW.

I used FreeBSD a while back - version 9.0 - had it up and running as a file server before borking X.

Back to VSIDO now, FreeBSD was running well on that computer except for idling at low-50's C and ramping up to upper 60's as soon as I opened an app. HP laptops have an issue with heat to begin with, so not entirely FreeBSD issue; Ubuntu and derivatives also run hot, but not plain Debian.

I'll probably try it again on the old desktop that was running BSD before; maybe NetBSD though.

scrot or it didn't happen -

Chose a different method for compiling the new Kernel.  Not sure I like this way.  Will try a couple more times and if it gets better I'll update the doc I attached in the 'How To' thread...

And a little more clutter...

Great background. I would use it. The uncluttered version is already too cluttered for me,   :P but I like it anyway. Nice desktop, jedi.

Thanks, jedi. Downloaded.  8)

@ PackRat: That inxi command seems to work for the US only...

PS, I'm in the process of fully reorganizing my Fluxbox menu. Will post when done... though will look as dark as always with my tar-owl merged theme. Perhaps I should explore some forgotten themes in my stash, but I have a tendency to get back home.  :D

I thought inxi did non-US weather; just drop the W then for the system info.
